However, as per one of the comments here by yogababy on 9th Sep @ 5:26pm, someone from Urban Yoga management told her that they did send their proposal to the Receiver but is putting on KIV. This means they setup as a new company and not taking over the YZ. That’s why they said that they are not liable to the YZ members or the creditors, it’s true but will the Receiver come to get back the YZ remaining assets (such as furniture, air-cond, mirror and etc.) from Plaza Damas and Kepong as Urban Yoga is not their appointed new investor. If so, does the receiver has the right to do so now as the landlord has terminated the lease with YZ and renew the lease to Urban Yoga.
Is the Receiver yet to re-act on time, so this is happened that the YZ outlets taken over by a new investor but not the company? What has the Receiver done so far? No status at all after 34 days of receivership since 7th Aug? Understood they need sometime to clear the mess but at least let us know an estimated time line and status update.
Found few comments from the members here who have made calls to the receiver but either couldn’t get thru or got them but without any answer/status update. I have tried to call them yesterday’s morning but same as some of the members here that couldn’t get thru. So, I decided to write them a letter via email as suggested by Fei. I made a very simple request, i.e. to have a meeting with the members for status update instead leaving us in the dark. They should consider the members as creditors as well (paid in advance but no service is rendered) and concern about our benefits. Attached above is the letter sent yesterday @ 1:45pm and I have confirmed the email address given by Fei is correct as stated in their website - http://www.ferrierhodgson.com.au/index.cfm. However, so far no news from them yet and doubt they will reply me.

Dear all, I don't know why, when I read more in detailed about the whole situation, I hate you deeper and deeper and I started to respect TJ more and more( sorry, TJ, i was one of them calling you conman ).
I only know one thing, without TJ, there's no YZ; without TJ, YZ can never revive. If TJ and YZ don't die, no one can even have a chance to break this fortress and yoga empire created by the founder. YZ was killed by insiders, the members that gossipped too much ( included me ), the teachers that spread rumours and said TJ had already ran away and conned everyone's money, like Serena and Kim; those managers who left one by one; every one came with their own agenda, as long as YZ is gone, they have achieved their motive.
imagine, serena immediately approached the cheras plaza management that she wants to take over the cheras outlet, she has been waiting for this chance for long as told by one of the pro-TJ teachers, she's the one who spread the most rumours and badmouth TJ. Iook down on you on your ethic and personality. She's the one that initiated the case to meet Michael Chong. She is taking all these as her strategy to kill YZ and buy at cheap price ( like what lay gaik did ) but didn't succeed as neither receiver nor the landlord trust her capability.

Your analysis on the whole scenario makes sense. Of course TJ made the mistake of too greedy by expanding with the intention of getting advance cash.
However no one really knows if the scheme of expansion & GC package "orchestrated" by who - no doubt TJ was the founder but the management/execution of it is another matter. When the co can no longer sustained last year, those insiders in the know went for the kill ("lok cheng hak seck"). Then YZ spiralled out of control.

when day one after the receivership, the receiver announced during the meeting that they couldn't even find a piece of 'paper' in the company, I already know that this receivership company is useless, hopeless and helpless! This tactic is normally used by receiver to push away all the shit and responsibilities. Come on, the receivership was came in a sudden, how can TJ moved away all the papers in the company just like that? A 90% shareholder manipulate his own business and only gain 10bucks for 100 bucks conned? We all must have done too much yoga and forgot how to analyse.
I was once thought that the Lay Gaik is here to save us, but since I met her once, I can tell you she's a dangerous woman, calculated, cunning and always wanting to gain sympathy. Basically she must be now laughing tiwards the urbanyoga! Checking ROC? Is he a shareholders? Ha ha! Come on, we are too naïf. In this business world, it's common and easy to find a representative for yourself as the shareholder for tax planning and appearance purposes. You will never find her name in the new company cause she will appoint a proxy to divert our attention. See that she's much much more aggresive than the dumb and dumber receivers. Don't you all see that the receiver is just her puppet and step stone to achieve her mission?
Receivers, FYI, it's time for them to 'declare the business is not viable, and we have no choice but to cease the operations and wind up the company!'
initially I would blame TJ for this, but now, the devil in the whole case is Lay Gaik. Eveyyhibg was well planned by her, the cases one after another. Building up and piling up,then cruel enough to just snatched like that. For sure, her loss? 600k? Is only the beginning, the true soul of yoga spirit will send her to hell!

Some might blame TJ for expanding too fast, but at least he spent his 6 years to spread the love of yoga in Malaysia, i must thank him for bring yoga to me. Though now i can no longer practice in YZ, but i will always remember such a good place. YZ might expanded fast but this will not happen if the founder himself has no passion in Yoga, i believe many members especially the very first batch of his students know well about his passion in yoga.
But what does LIM LAY GAIK did by bringing in the receiver is devastated an incurable to every yogi not just in YZ but Malaysia. I am sure Karma will have the way to repay you on what wrong she has done.
Yoga is a philosophy, and YOGA means UNION, i belive this apply to our daily life with people. To me, after so many incidents, i am sad that not many teachers demostrated this values.

Honestly, I don't see what Lim Lay Gaik has done to save or help us members? If she say she need to stop TJ in order not to get more members conned; Is forcing the closure of ALL centre the ONLY way?
And then, leave everyone blank and lost. Suddenly, up come a NEW company, and then say, they're not related to YZ, just a complete NEW company.
What is actually happening? Did anybody SAVE us or?

All the money we have paid don't know gone to whose pocket.
Then now we're being inform there's a NEW Yoga Centre and to make them look good, they say, they're in no relation to YZ but yet offering some benefits to YZ members.

I think should ask all other YogaCentre to promote here.
Instead of rejoining this new "con outfit", everyone should contribute RM88 each to a legal fund to pursue legal action against Lay Gaik and the receiver for fraud. Technically this is a shareholder restructuring scheme and the shareholder cannot benefit fully. The receiver has not even meet the creditors and present a scheme of arrangement. The receivership is being utilised to take over a business with compensation to the creditors. In addition, the receiver has to present a scheme to the Court for sanction.

Urban Yoga has nothing to compensate or take over whatsoever of YZ. It's a 'new' company( as they stated over and over again) and quickly putting some marketing scheme at work to get started. geez! "We are a new company, we have nothing to do with YZ, BUT since we sympathize YZ members who are left on the roadside, therefore we can offer to take you in with SOME discount." First, it may sound NICE but then when the info soaks in, it is utter BS! Any centres can do that too cos it's just a way of marketing anyway.Good discounts esp when they are a *cough* 'new yoga centre.PUIKS! Down to the root is, it is denying to have anything to do with YZ/ debts whatsoever.
Anyway, the receiver can only liquidate as much of the assets to lessen the debt.They will pay whoever who is the top priority.Where do members stand in the queue when they have the landlords, teachers, staffs and whosoever in front of the queue?
Can forget YZ and its saga. We need to find a way to get a place and practice.Money is confirm down the drain - we are NOT going anywhere near the new face of YZ (same ol management who can screw us anytime) because, we don't have a reason to trust them anymore.

Yes, consumers may have short memory, yoga practitioners will have a life long belief and disbelief, for sure, urbanyoga, is the latter one.
My friend, a lawyer by profession, was in the high court this morning and by chance wanted to attend the hearing for the receivership of YZ. Can you imagine that the judge was on medical leave!!!!! viva for malaysian justice, how are we as customer supposed to be taken cared off. I would say for a high profile case like this.........it's just easily pushed away. Thank god when my dad had to go for his bypass the doctor didn't call in sick.....
The hearing was postponed to 14th October. So can we have a moment of silence or claps our hands with joy that the justice system has carved the final words on the YZ tombstone and nothing even in our wildest dreams will save us.
As this lawyer friend of mine is also my buddy for yoga at damas outlet (who just signed for GC 3 months ago), just finished bitching over how citibank is still charging us for payment and how royally screwed we felt. She did give some advice that we can actually get print outs of the affidavit's from the court, which she has and i'm going to share something really interesting with all of you........ to start off MY GOD !!!!!!!!!!!! one of the affidavits filed in by ferrier hodgson (the receivership company) that a complete status report was given on the 11th of september, a day before the hearing. Which states that they have no choice but to cease operations by the 15th if nobody comes in to save it. Thanks to the white knight@LG for making that final push over the ledge. I really do believe that there was a master plan for everything that happened. Just because of this, a few of us have vowed not to join urban yoga..... it's not that we are being a bitchy or anything, but the fact that we don't think these people are fit to run true and real yoga.....
Looks like there is an element of fraud. It would be great if we can get at least 2,000 members to contribute RM88 each towards legal fund to take action against Lay Gaik and Ferrier Hodgson. How can the receiver says there is no white knight when the petitioner for the receivership is taking over two outlets belonging to YZ! Another option will be to report to Commercial Crime for further action. Existing members should not join Urban Yoga just because you like the teachers. We should get these kind of business people out of business for good!

Let see, if they're going to closed down, I don't think these receivers will plan to pay any of the debts to the suppliers/creditors. So I don't understand why they need to do so if they already going to close it anyway?
Someone mentioned the receivers job is to try to save the company? Try and clear the debts? I think they might as well, close it, declare bankruptcy and money go into pocket. Since they can do it to members, why can't they do it to others?
Maybe they just trying to con the members that they need to clear the debts?
So what if Urban Yoga is really a new company which has no relation with YZ?
After these incidents, I think victims should be more experience and learn a good lesson, better go for RELIABLE and BIG company, and also be more cautious of the company. More importantly, no more ONE SHOT payment; better pay monthly, unless they provide black and white for WHAT IF they close down kind of thing.
Then again, if Urban Yoga has no relation to YZ, and YZ has not yet even closed down (still under receivership?). Why did Urban Yoga have to take over the "place" and how they did take it over if they have no connection with YZ?
What IF YZ didn't closed down and wants the branch back or there is a potential investor to take over?
There's just too many doubts / loop holes here.
As mentioned before, it's better to go for those that are more reliable and stable companies.
Plus, what they're offering, others can offer too, maybe even BETTER than what they can offer.
I heard Fitness First in Bukit Tinggi Klang has given good offers for Y Fitness members and many sign up causing the small Fitness center to be crowded like Pasar Malam!
Talk about closing down? These centres would be less likely to closedown and they're international; Not impossible but less likely. (not even to be compare with NEW company, and appearing suddenly during YZ receivership crisis; coincidence?)

Yes, the ending of the story of YZ since the receiver doesn't even take the effort to save it (they may have but no one will know as they never update anyone the status) and just state that no choice but to cease the operations by 15 Sep as per OneYoga and Karen's comments.
Too tired on this matter and no point dying for it as life still need to move on. Lets start a new Chapter of our yoga life.
As told that YZ has 20,000 members and believe currently there is no such a big yoga center in Malaysia can reap the big pie of yoga market created by YZ. So, it should be a good news to all yoga centers that everyone will have the chance to share a piece of the pie of this huge demand in a win/win situation.
I would welcome all existing or new setup yoga centers to free advertise here and appreciate if could kindly send me all your details (pictures of your studio as well if possible) for my compilation. I will try to visit some centers nearby my places over the weekends too. So that, the members here can at glance look for an alternative yoga centers which is near to them or at their preference as everyone has different needs. I have to admit that I contributed to the succeed of urban yoga also because i did keep on conveying messages to my fellow buddies in the classes, now i regret, really regret, truly regret, deeply regret...the feeling is like i murdered someone, living with guilt now...
when i try to do sun salutation at home this morning, i suddenly feel scare, like the god of yoga is watching me, as i have done something really bad by not stopping the rumours but adding salt.

now my lifetime membership should be burnt also, i still remember lim lay gaik's face, next time, i will ask her 'Are you happy to ruin so many members' yoga practise?' if i got to meet her at somewhere.

I stand neutral all this while. I only support whoever can revive YZ. I have been going thru yogajess blog from the beginning till now , and now going true your blog.
When i heard, YZ was going under receivership, I knew it will be the end, though many of my friends supported it. We even have arguements over this issue.
But the sad thing is till todate, with all this happening, none of us know what actually happen. Only TJ and LG will know.
But as a member of YZ , can someone either TJ or LG let us know the truth or is it the truth cannot be out cos it could be = to fraud. Please let us die in peace. At least we know.
My point of view, if TJ rules, we may live a little bit longer. But during LG's rule = receivership =immediate death.
As members, we lose everything. I wonder under the receivership, are the teachers, landlords, creditors able to get back anything. maybe one cent to a dollar etc etc. How is it that there is no news at all from the receiver on this. We as members , i believe have the right to know.

Don't blame yourselves as no one knows this would be the result. At that moment, the situation told everyone that YZ was in danger and hoping someone can help. YZ might not be survived too even if not go for receivership. Moreover, it was beyond members' control whether to let YZ to go under receivership as that was an order from the court.
You are not God and won't be able to predict what will happen. So, don't blame yourselves and get your feeling hurt as none of the members want YZ in ruin. Life still need to move on, so look forward. Lets start a new chapter of our yoga life... Cheers ^_^

I contacted dawid two days ago, he was so sicked with the rumours in the blog that keep on attacking him while he was all out to support Tj. He told me he was so regret to listen to serena and kim that keep on brainwashing him not to teach anymore during the last possible moment for TJ to revive YZ. But he has no any directions yet.
What ever said and done, everybody makes their own choices. my friends and i will not support unscrupelous people like those who opened urban yoga. I did have the oppurtunity to meet ms lim lay gaik once and did find her to be rude, selfish and not caring about members needs.
Klang members already formed a committee to take action against the parties involved. Police report is one of their proposed actions. Hopefully, those guilty are put behind bars!

This evening malacca YC have a meeting.heard the owner,Alan,will prepare a propasal for members to convince us to join his NEW BRAND yoga centre.The situation exactly same like KL!Using YZ set up concept,change the brand,sapu YZ members and press RESET button to run again the business!
i wont go back to the place to learn yoga no matter how good the propasal is!this is not about money,it's about my principles!hate this kind of people use tactic to run business!only know how to use member to protect himself!
Alan,prepare yourself to attend Tribunal court next month!i know i will get back my money soon because two of my friends already won the case last month.This is the time to pay back what you have done to us and Yoga Zone!

As we went to Malacca Tribunal association ,the people who incharge ask us to put in two party name,which is Malacca Yoga Club and KL Yoga Zone.Because our membership receipt belongs to Malacca YC,so Alan has no choice to escape the responsibility to members.
I heard from my friend,Alan told the judge he also one of the victim,lost his money in the business,he is poor now.He try to gain sympathy in front of the judge,but the judge still ask him to pay the balance of the membership fees within 1 month.which mean,if you sign up membership with RM1488/year,and you only learn 3months,then you can get back the rest of 9months member fees.
we are consumer,the judge will side us all the time no matter how poor the defendent is.If he never pay within 1 month,the court will armerce him until he pay us back the money.
The most important thing is,when you go to the Tribunal court,you must tell the judge clearly what you request for,money or classes?
like now Malacca case,we can decline Alan's propasal and ask him to pay back our hard earn money,because his new propasal is not FREE for members,he still ask members to pay RM60/month,and will deduct another RM60 from the rest of membership fees/month until membership expiry date.
Alan told us he need to survive also,and he will try to get good quality yoga teacher from YZ with high pay for them(curi YZ teacher again!!!).what a joke?i still have to pay for this kind of people?I dont bother who the teacher is,Andy Lau,Micheal Jackson,Faye Wong or Pak lah...i dont know!i just want my money back!i rather practice yoga at home!

All the YZ outlets are currently closed, except Plaza Damas and Kepong are operating under a new investor called 'Urban Yoga' but will start charging @ RM88 per month effective 1st Oct. Worst case now is the receiver has no news, no update...

Malacca licensee was the first to start all this, FYI, their lawyer is from old klang road, near YZ HQ, this lawyer was recommended by the previous fat fat GM, vivian Goh. She was the one suspended by the last time Group GM, Phyllis. Heard that she passed one of the very important and confidential documents in YZ to LG to win the case.
After she was reinstated, as an employee, she still have face to give a lawyer letter to demand for RM100,000 compensation and apology, she must be crazy! She worth RM100,000??? Oh my god! Forget about that! 10cents also gave more to her already!

I have got some insights about the teachers' salary, it's range from RM55-RM100 per hour. If a teacher is teaching 20 hours weekly, his/her salary can be ranged from RM 4,400 to 8,000. Most of the teachers have been teaching for at least one year plus, how could they have no savings at all and initial one month salary delay can created such a chaos? The salary they get is equivalent to a senior manager income! Gosh!

Just to remind that the YZ teachers didn't get their salaries for 3 consecutive months and not 1 month as mentioned.
Not everyone is a good financial planner and everyone has the right on how to sepnd the money and plan for savings regardless how much one earns. As such, no one should criticize anyone else on this matter.
In fact, don't wish to bring up this matter but just hope a fair comment to the teachers.
Past is already the past, history. By blaming and citicizing, it won't help. But life is still need to move on. So, lets look forward and move forward to plan for future... Cheers ^_^
I am really really pissed. I have another 7 + 6 months to go. I called the "Urban Yoga" earlier today and they said that all YZ memebership if void after september.

If not mistaken, whatever OneYoga said is true and the range is subject to the qualification and experience. But as I known, YZ was previously paid slightly higher than the market. Moreover, the classes offered in other yoga centers are not that many hours as YZ as most of them couldn't afford to open too many classes as YZ.
Private session can be charged more expensive...
The yoga teacher salary is varied from centre to centre.
Dance yoga only pay RM30 per hour for their yoga teacher.

Simple calculation based of RM4,400 to RM8,000 = average RM6,200 per month per teacher. Currently UrbanYoga have let say, 20 teachers = RM124,000, divided by 2 outlets = 62,000 per month per outlet, plus rental,salary & other expenses of let say, RM26,000 = total RM88,000 per month. They just need existing 1,000 YZ members to sign up to break even and the balance is profit. Can see how RM88 came about...

My friend more pityful that she alredy fully paid n utilised 2 months only. i tried to look for update news from newspaper/media but failure. yes, the cheras plaza is under public auction on 17th September 2008, according to the status report by ferrier hodgson, Centro is the next.
I also heard that the receiver is supposed to collect all moveable fixtures and go for auction later on. I tried to find out news YZ under the receiver, but no one seems to know anything.
Sigh!! I suppose it is true they will cease operation. No sign that they can continue operating. Just wondering how much the owners can get back. Of course all of us definetely will get nothing.
By the way,, anyone know whereabouts of Dawid. I want to attend his class .

Could you please inform us what is the status of YZ? Has it really ceased operation?This is the least you could do right,letting us members know what is the current status now rather than leaving us all in a blur.
My dear, from the experience since receivership kicked in, no notice no announcement, no meeting, no progress report neither from LG nor receiver. Do you still expect them to let you know what are their plans? They'll just keep all members in the dark and do whatever possible to maximise their gain out of it. This is Malaysia justice! No one can stop it except the Court but I understood the judge went on MC on the date of hearing and postpone for another month. By the time, sorry, everything gone!

Is it confirm the auction is held by the Receivers?
FYI, there was an auction on 9th September 2008 for YFitness equipments and everything inside the centre. It was auctioned by "CENTRO" not receivers. It's because they did not pay rent and they don't give any information to Centro.
The last I know was during the Meeting on 5th September, I saw the notice for auction and it stated if the owner wants to take back their good, please contact Centro Management.
Receivers? New Management? It's pretty clear how these guys do things.

The public auction is confirmed carried out by the landlord, not the coward Ferrier Hodgson, they purposely drag time till landlord was impatient and seal the outlets! Ferrier goes to hell and rest in peace!
SO, all those sweet talks about being in receiverships awaiting new potential investors and such, are all bs "lah". Basically just buying time, dragging and finally to late for many of us to take any action when we finally know the truth.
I strongly doubt the new company Urban Yoga. Sorry but it's too obvious and far BIG coincidence; at this current time, suddenly came a NEW "unknown" company and ABLE to take over the branches (for whatever reasons) and able to understand and know so many *thing*, getting the teachers, the facilities, etc (as I heard they're very similar to YZ, woah~ another coincidence)?
Sorry, but is anyone going to fall for it? I have no idea if they're REAL or not, but I strongly, extremely, seriously doubt it. Something is just not right, and by right, we should've trust our senses early when YZ was just "rumoured" to be in trouble.
I drove thru Centro everyday but still saw the treadmill and gym ball is there. ARe you sure there is a public auction? Would love to get one of the ball (TJ's ex-ball) to be bounce at home.

Haven't check the place since the last meeting, but it's what stated on the notice.
Then again, during the Meeting, "Leonard", the BodyStep instructor did suggest Centro to take over. In his blog, it seems he mentioned that Centro did have some interest?
Maybe that's why they're keeping?
But if they took over, the members still have to pay for the membership again anyway. The suggestions motive was just to get a change of management and preserving the community rather than aiming at getting refund/stopping payments.
Personally, if Centro took over YFitness, I think it's still better than some unknown company. But it'll be best if those reputable Fitness Centre willing to take over.
From what I know, Fitness First has some offer for YFitness members; I heard the AEON Bukit Tinggi Klang Fitness First is so pack like "Pasar Malam".
i've file a claim at tribunal court on wednesday. i was inform by the officer there, one of the copy i need to send to yogazone n need their acknowledgement of receipt. how? i think now there's no one in the office to acknowledge receipt, would like to seek for advice what should i do to that copy? thks...

i've experience once of this situation before, where there is an indian guy come shoot me die hard in kepong outlet, however, we(UrbanYoga@Kepong n Damas) cant take care of it, so u can directly go to receiver office and call them take it, they are acting on behalf for yz management now,(coz whatever shit also they gotta eat now)
