Meeting at Plaza Damas on 8th Sep 2008

First would like to thank YogaBaby being so kind to raise our listed concerns here and updated us as soon as she was back from the meeting.

There were 5 member representatives from Plaza Damas and YogaBaby represented The Weld but she is so kind printed our concerns listed here (emailed from some of Cheras members) and to find out the answers from the investor. Below are the summaries and for the details you may refer to YogaBaby’s comment at the previous post of “Meetings…” on 8th Sep @ 6:58pm.

Without Prejudice

  • The Plaza Damas and Kepong outlets are confirmed to be taken over by the new investors with immediate effect. The new company will be named as “Urban Yoga” (if I didn't hear it wrongly). Plaza Damas will resume the classes tomorrow. They have the intention to take over Cheras Plaza as well but pending to the mutual agreement with the landlord. It might take about 2 weeks time for outcome from the landlord whether they will renew the lease. The Weld and Sri Petaling aren’t sound positive due to huge outstanding rental due (3-4 months) and the latter outlet seems encounter difficulty on leasing procedure. No idea about the fate of other outlets. Appreciate if the representatives that going to attend the meeting at Kepong tomorrow can help to raise this concern?

  • No refund on whatever paid package to YZ as this is between YZ and the members. But it seems some members have filed with Tribunal Court and the court has ordered YZ to refund but don’t know the status. So, anyone of the victim can go and pay RM10 to file with Tribunal Court and wait for the refund. Anyway, doubt YZ has anything to refund to the members and wonder the receiver could be a better party to update us the YZ status.

  • The “Urban Yoga” is a newly formed company and willing to offer special rate for the existing YZ members:
    - The YZ yearly members and those holding voucher entitled RM88 monthly fee for the first year.
    - The GC members entitled this RM88 monthly fee for the first 3 years.
    - The fee is charged on monthly basis and pay directly to this new yoga club, “Urban Yoga”.
    - After the grace period (1 year for yearly members and 3 years for GC), the monthly fee will be @ RM138.
    - This membership is free flow club to club.
    - The YZ Official Receipt need to be presented as proof of YZ valid membership in order to be entitled for this RM88 special rate.
    - This RM88 new fee take effect from 1st Oct 2008. Meanwhile, YZ members can still practice at these outlets for free till end of Sep 2008.

  • It is confirmed that TJ did file to set aside the receivership. However, it will not affect the new business as the landlords have terminated the lease with YZ and signed new ones with the new owner and new club.

  • Regarding to the teachers' training, the new investor and Ms. Lim LG said that they will try to make special arrangement continue to provide the teachers' training to those have signed up the TTC.

  • The member representatives have suggested that to put up a suggestion box for member's queries.

  • They will renovate the outlets in stages as they want to continue operation and provide classes on a daily basis. Plaza Damas should have the water supply back by tomorrow, but YogaBaby suggests to bring own mat & towel as she heard that the outlet is still in a mess at the moment.

  • Should you all have further questions, you may contact the manager at Plaza Damas - Ms Esther & Kepong - Miss Lillian.

Above might not clear all the doubts but at least we know that the new investor really comes into the picture and 2 outlets (Plaza Damas & Kepong) are confirmed been taken over. Special rate of new fees to the existing members are clear, some may accept but some may not. It is hard to please everyone but at least do give some answers instead of leaving the members in the dark. The pending issue now is the status of other outlets and those pity victims that still paying installments may take legal action against YZ and can't claim anything from the new investor as it is setup as a new company. Appreciate if anyone can make good suggestions to help those GC members that burdened with heavy instalments and intend to continue their yoga practice. THANK YOU.

This means game over for me. I'm giving up. Bye bye all my yogakaki.

It's really heart breaking, every month still need to pay yogazone installment.

To whoever is attending the kepong meeting tmr, could you please find out what is the fate of the other outlets? ie taman desa and sri petaling?many thanks in advance.

Anonymous said...

If they are charging existing members rm88 per month and since there are less operating outlets now,I hope they will increase the number of classes everyday coz no one is going to be pleased not being able to attend classes after being told " sorry the class is full!" after paying rm88 again.

Anonymous said...

How about allowing members to attend classes based on remaining months that they are going to pay on installments? Then at least they get to choose to continue or not by starting to pay the new fees once the installment finish.Just a thought.

Anonymous said...

It is possible for the investors to consider let the GC members join the classes without any charges for maybe 1 year as we are still paying installment. Once we are satisfied with the services and classes, I am sure will sign up to become a new members.

Anonymous said...

I totally agree that the new investor should consider letting the GC members learning without any fees for at least until they settled their monthly installment.. Can someone maybe bring this up in today's meeting at Kepong.

After having a long thought last night :-

1) Why should the members continue to pay RM88 per month especially most of us are still paying monthly installment to the bank? PDamas members may not have disagree with the proposed fees but what about members from Kepong, Puchong,SP, Tmn.Desa or even CP??? Some has to work hard for their money & some has to reach out to their other half. Just speaking my mind for others effected.

2) RM88/mth may seem not much to some, but may seem a lot to others.

3) Look at the whle & not individual:

YZ has 20,000 members x RM88 = RM1.76 million per month!!!!!!

Investors would have covered their cost within the 1st month & profits within the 2nd month!!! Wah, I also want to take over Yoga Zone.

New Investor should consider charging only RM28 or RM38 at least for the first 4-6 months to gain members' confidence in Urban Yoga & so as not to burn a huge hole in our pockets.

I hope those attending the meeting today can bring this up. Sorry, as it didn't cross my mind yesterday at the meeting as I was more concerned about the Indian teachers' welfare.

It's not a matter of money. If we can pay thousands, what is RM88. It is the way the whole exercise is being engineered by an existing shareholder of YZ to recoup her investment. We cannot just believe her based on face value, implying it is the sole fault of the majority shareholder. I am sure all members are very appreciative of all the teachers and staff and would be prepared to give them whatever support we can. In this scenario, the shareholder gets her return and all others suffered financially. The last recession of the 1997/98 is a good lesson to all. The companies gone bust but the principal shareholders still have tens/hundreds of millions overseas. I am sure lots of new businesses are being set up by them under their nominees after that. Please don't let it happen again. Join another outfit. Members should form a consortium and report to the Commercial Crime Division and let them defend themselves in court. Don't waste money by suing the company.

Agree to YogaBaby that hoping the new investor really take into consideration to waive or give a even better rate for GC member for a grace period as most of them are still paying heavy installment.

Although I'm no GC member, I really sympathize to those yoga lovers intend to continue practicing yoga but might not afford due to their hard earned money been conned and still have to pay the installments for nothing. Honestly speaking, RM88 is a reasonable price with this kind of facilities and teachers, but it would be a burden for those still paying heavy bank installment.

It is right to say that this is nothing to do with the new investor as it was a deal between YZ and members. But could they just honour it as a gesture of goodwill as these are genuine yoga practitioners and believe they will much appreciate it and continue their membership after the grace period. Moreover, as mentioned by YogaBaby and few Anonymous here that Urban Yoga really save some money by taken over the outlets with most of the renovation done (no doubt they still have to spend some money to upgrade and spring clean it but the essential setup is done).

I consider myself a bit lucky compared to those GC like Fei. I have paid up RM1,588 for 18 months but just utilised for 1-2 months. I have paid up in advance for the package and my last instalment was the closure month of YZ in Jul. I been conned as well but not tied-up with any installment. So, can afford to pay the RM88 but unfortunately both my nearest outlets CP & SP are closed. Referring to the timetable today, all the outlets are closed except Plaza damas & Kepong. So, I better look for other yoga center for practice while waiting any good news from CP...

funny world....... we are the victims, we (members) suffer not only from financial part, mentally as well. and now we r like beggar, begging for ppl who conned us for giving us hope!!! MY GOD!!!

By giving us RM88 for 1 or 3 yrs!!! what a BIG mercy!! what a good deed!!!

Anonymous said...

Yogababy, I fully agree with what you said (September 9, 2008 9:57 AM). One meeting with only a few members should NOT determine the outcome and fate for all the other members. Damas member may agree with the RM88, but like you calculated, it's a huge sum of money and without knowing the plan and vision of this new company, we would be blindly investing and may end up cheated again.

Does anyone know how to form the consortium like what 'Cheated' mentioned? I think maybe we should have a meeting between us members and see what actions can be done to protect ourselves. It would be good if someone with legal knowledge or experience can assist on this matter. There may not be a good outcome or refund in the end but at least we tried.

Can someone guide us as to how to file "request for refund" at the tribunal court.

Can anyone give us a clear picture as to what is happening with YZ. Who is the new investor? Who is the new company? Who are the new shareholders?
In what manner is the new owner taking over YZ? Or is it the new owner just rent the premises from landlord.
We need a clear picture towards the new ownership to avoid being cheated again.

Any idea on what becomes of the fate of YC Taman Desa?

I am actually very upset that we have to pay RM 88 on top of the cash that we've paid to YZ.

If you remember my situation, I have not even activated my membership yet, and am running on the FOC passes. And now I have to pay RM 88 every month??! This is ridiculous!

I am keen to know what's to happen to YC Taman Desa so that I could decide if I wanna file a complaint in Tribunal Court. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

actually we members are already being cheated by miss lim lay gaik! "new investor"? what does that mean? "investor" should be investing in the existing company and recognizing the existing benefits of the members. Not by setting up a new "URBAN YOGA" and get more money from members! What i see now is not investor! is new owner altogether! their so called perks to YZ existing member is just to wish to recruit more members and get money in. But why should i be paying, as far as i know, ms lim lay gaik called for the receivership and now what is happening to YZ? why should the member want to trust you again? I am really regretted why initially we never trusted TJ for his investor rather than your receivership? I am very sure is a lot better than your stupid receiver idea!

So now only i see clearly your intention is really to take over the YZ outlet and open up your own by taking YZ outlet one by one and worse we still need to pay "MONTHLY"!

so to those member who attended the meeting, who is this "OWNER" who is taking over Damas and Kepong? is this "OWNER" lim lay gaik? why lim lay gaik is in the picture if the new "owner" is not her? Why lim lay gaik wants to call for the receiver when there is already an "investor"? why lim lay gaik does not want to work with the previous directors instead? WHY WE NEED TO PAY MORE!

frankly i wont be paying if i do not know the background of the investor, perhaps the Urban Yoga will close in no time! dear yoga lovers, please make your decision wisely.

god bless!

We are being cheated and now we have to beg to practice yoga lessons which we have paid in advance? We are told we are practicing for free until end September? That's treating us as fools! We must stand firm and not compromise as I have stated many times that this is an existing shareholder engineered scheme. Going to the Tribunal Court is against the company, no use. We must act against the shareholders and directors. We should seek help from the Member of Parliament for Cheras to assist in reporting to the Commercial Crime to enable them to investigate whether they is any fraudulent practice.

Anonymous said...

pl, in fact i do not think the meeting with the members' rep is fair too. I think is more like they annoucing what ms lim lay gaik wants to do, not by listening to member what we want to do. so wht is the purpose of asking us to attend the meeting at the first place!

Anonymous said...

i wonder where is the receiver? aren't they should say something after messing YZ till now? I won't be joining URBAN YOGA for sure, the reason is simple, though the so called "investor" or "owner" is new, from the yoga baby's report after the meeting, the one that managing this new yoga center is still the stupid old management that messed up YZ. Duh!! not another time!

Anonymous said...

Yes, time to give up, time to wake up from dream and foolish hope :(
No matter they got money to refund or not, I still want to file for refund, exercise my rights.

Unknown said...

I've mentioned this before in the previous blog before meeting. A smart investor should not charge victim members for fees at least for this very moment.

After announcing the rm88 fees for the existing members, it has spur immediate outcry among the members here.

Not to mention about company survival in long term, I wonder how they can even start the business next month.

Investor should revise the membership policy immediately before they adverse effect happen to your new company. I really don't know what the next action the desperate members will carry out toward the new company, it's definitely harmful to the new company by all means.

Anonymous said...

anonymous, I do not plan to join or pay for the RM88 too. Simple reason being that there is no official announcement or any proper channel and communication which YZ/NI/or whoever it is to all the members which they owe for such a long time. Members are struggling to attend yoga classes, wondering in the dark what will happen next for the past one month + and now we are being asked to pay if we want to continue without even knowing what went wrong in the first place that caused all our hard earned money go down the drain.

'cheated', if you plan to take any actions, please keep me in the loop. I'm checking this blog daily. Thanks.

Hi,

Is anyone here know the receiver's contact as thinking to request them to call for a meeting with members as they suppose to update us the status, 6 outlets are closed now. What have they found out from YZ for the past few weeks... Any chance to sue and claim back the money from YZ? Are they the one suppose to tell?

Although I'm not a GC member, of course it would be good if can claim back my RM1,500++ for my new enrolment for future other yoga classes. Worth to try if there is a chance.

However, wonder what is the possibility to get our paid package be refunded? I in doubt as YZ seems has no assets to sell and don't want to waste more money, time and energy if there is no chance at all to get back the refund from an empty shell company. Too tired and mentally stressed.

Hi Yoga Lover,
I have the info for the receiver

Mr.Chiok Fong Chuan (Project Director of YZ receivership)
Add: 22, Jalan Tun Sambathan 3, 50470 kl
Tel.No.:03-22736227

You may try your luck, as i think they are not picking up the phone, or mentioning "Please call back later, they are having meeting" or "Not in",etc. I've called for days.

I think we can organise a group of people to go to the office together to make some enquiries. It's just around the place where the Blind Massage Centres are just nearby.

Dear true yogalover,

I was there last Thursday afternoon, it's a four-storey shophouses, when I walked in to the ground floor reception area, there's a smily Malay receptionist attended to me, once she knows that I'm a member wanted to speak to the personnel, her face immediately turned sour, and giving excuses to me for not able to meet the receivers.
After talking to her for a while, she mentioned to me that, "Saya pun sudah pengsan oh! hari-hari ini Yoga Zone punya pasal!" ( I'm almost fainted, because of this daily YZ matters )
I have a clearer picture now, this Lim Lay Gaik must be eyeing on this flourish business for long, then she purposely created the chaos and come in with receivership with the new owner to swallow the whole business, and making the previous owner TJ have no way to take it back by contacting the landlord directly to terminate the previous tenancy and offering higher rental.
What can the previous owner TJ do if the receivership is set aside on 12th september? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Oppsss...sorry, something -- the shit left by the receivers and the almighty Lim Lay Gaik that burnt our package!!!
Better join One Yoga!

No one is trying to close YZ down. Certainly not me! What do I get out of this if I close YZ down or bankrupt yz as some of you claimed? Think about it. I lose RM600K!!! My objective is to try and bring back YZ to its glory days. Members, staff and teachers, the last few months must have been very challenging for all of you. Irregular classes for members, irregular paychecks for the staff and teachers. For those who claimed that I am closing down YZ, come forward with proof. Stop all these rumours. Some of you are ignorant of the law and I don’t blame you for believing these rumour mongers. But get your facts right. Like the saying goes, empty vessels make the most noise and I am sure there are many out there (based on the blog). Read Charlane’s remarks on the definition of Receivership or get a dictionary to find out the meaning. This is not a popularity contest for who is the better person in this situation. All I can say is time will tell and the truth will prevail.

MISS LIM LAY GAIK!!!!!! WHERE'S THE GLORY DAYS YOU PROMISED??????
IS THIS THE TRUTH THAT FINALLY PREVAIL? YOU ARE THE REAL LIAR!!!!!!!

Ouch! It's sickening!!!

I totally agree on "cheated", members hard earned money is just burned by the so called receiver that might help us. But they are doing nothing for us, the outlet become worse tremendously in so short period.

I remember the very last class i went to Cheras, i still see cleaner still doing work, but right after receiver taking over, there's no cleaning job at all.

I really hope the receiver is just useless, and they are not "working together" with ms Lim Lay Gaik, or else they will be in deep troubles and with bad reputation in handling receiver project, as they are appointed by ms Lim Lay Gaik.

I think my membership is really burned. Really have to look forward. I agree oneyoga said too, join other yogacentre.
Better join myoga @ midvalley.

This is the Charlane's definitetion of RECEIVERSHIP as per yogajess blog:

http://www.yogajess.com/?p=257#comments

Charlane on 9 August, 2008 at 2:16 am #
A simple explanation of a Receiver and Receivership in layman’s terms:

In the context of Law, a “Receiver” is a person or an independent consultancy or professional firm appointed by a Court to manage the operations and affairs of a Company that is in trouble (a “troubled Company”), especially if it is in critical financial difficulties. In ordinary terms, a Receivership is the process whereby the Receiver takes charge of the troubled Company. The primary objectives of the Receiver are to firstly review and assess whether or not the troubled Company can continue to be operational and is able to be profitable again. If it can be, then the Receiver will take charge, manage, operate and run the business as if the Receiver is the Management of the Company.

While under the Receivership, the Receiver will responsibly use the revenue generated from the continuing operations of the Company to ensure proper compliance with all the statutory obligations of the Company, such as Salary Payments, EPF, SOCSO, Corporate and Personal Income Tax and that all outstanding debts owed to creditors are settled eventually. Where necessary, the Receiver will also look for any investor(s) who would be interested in investing in the Company. In simple words, a Receiver is essentially a “White Knight” or a “Doctor” coming in to rescue or heal an ailing/sick company.

However, if despite all efforts made to turnaround the Company, the Receiver deems it no longer possible for the Company to carry on its operation profitably; the Receiver may have no other choice but to start a winding up of the Company as a last resort.

WHERE'S THE DOCTOR TO HEAL???? IS THE DOCTOR TO KILL!!! LIARS!

Dear All,
I’m not defending for myself, but to the existing team in the management that still stay strong despite of all the anger from members/ employees/ creditors. Please be fair to them, they are my boy friends, Marcus, David; my girl friends, Farah, Sarala, Subha; my wives, Michelle and Lilian.
When classes resume as usual next week, all oif those who so-called obtained the reliable source of information owe them a good apology, you cannot deny their effort ad hardwork at this moment, anyone who’s not mentally strong enough may just collapse and gone insane from some of the provocative and nasty callers, Lilian, you havemy full support.
Dear members, ask yourself one question, if we were to close down YZ, why 7 days? Or else, we could just close the outlets completely without staff to attend to you. Things are planned in this way as I already experience how bad can the damage be when rumours spread. There’s “someone” ( neither name nor position shall be mentioned here yet ) gonna march in to the management office later today and the new team is coming in progressively day after. An official employees’ meeting and creditors’ meeting will also be held ( don’t ask me the date, I can’t make decision for the new management; don’t attack anyone, this will only delay the proccess ).
I’m not SELLING OFF the company because I’m not the only shareholder in this company,I’m selling off my own share to help the current situation ( don’t even think in the way I can get 20million! )Lay Gaik is also one of shareholder, got the feedback from the
blog that she may misinterpreted that I’m selling off the company without her consent, sorry for the misunderstanding. If Lay Gaik is reading this blog, I truly hope that you can contact me personally ( the same number still ), our focus now shall be working together to make sure YZ story continues, let’s bury the hatchet, what do you think? I declare here there’s no bad intention to trap or any conspiracy, I just think back Lay Gaik and me used to be very close buddies, because of the “red-tapes” of some of the ex-employees in the company that made us misundertood each other and worse still, there’s a case. I’m always thinking of the way of re-generating the negative energy to be positive, I already made the first move, truly hope to meet you up soon to work together. If Lay Gaik’s friend’s is reading this, kindly pass her the message, the reason I don’t want to go through the legal advisor is I believe that if we have heart to make it happen, legal fees is only unneccesary costs incurred.

Hi OneYoga,

I believe you are also one of the YZ's victim, that's why went to the receiver's office. But, are you learning at OneYoga now and trying to advertise OneYoga here?

In fact, I was trying to promote OneYoga here and took the effort all the way to Kuchai Entrepreneur Park and walked thru that area for an hour (due to unfamiliar there) on one Sat to search for the studio to seek for more information. So sorry to say that the frontdesk girl was so unhelpful and seem like not really interested to take sales from YZ students. I'm not the only one commented this as remembered Cutiecate and friends have the same treatments as well.

I have been taking effort to survey around to gather more information from some other yoga centers at Cheras and Kuchai Lama before any news about the new investor. I just would like to share the information here as believe a lot of YZ members looking for other places for yoga practice. In fact, I'm one of the FREE ADVERTISER for other yoga centers at that moment but seem like OneYoga already have good business with their existing students. You may click on the "Category of Yoga Center" at the left column of the mainpage here for other yoga centers information I have gathered previously. (No offence here but just to tell you the truth)

This may be the only factor worth to consider this OneYoga because of the nice ex-YZ teachers...

I was at PDamas for 1 & 2.30pm class, quiet, less than 10 pax for 1pm class & 6 for 2.30pm class. The studio is clean & in order but as water supply is not resumed as promised yesterday when I was at the meeting, I dare not try using the washrooms. Had to walk into the mall to use washrooms.

The so call New Investor I met yesterday, when questioned by me about whether he is the new owner/new mgt, his reply was that he has given his proposal to the Receivers but Receivers are putting in on KIV (Keep In View) as there were other proposals from other investors keen to take over YZ. Please bear in mind :-

1) This so called NI has not been officially appointed by receivers that he is the NEW OWNER. He mentioned that the RM88 will be paid to his company. Ehmmm fishy... why not pay the receiver instead??since he is not the official New Owner. This RM88/mth is effective 1st Oct, can all this hoo-hah be settle by then? If not, why are we paying this NEW OWNER?

2)But also consider that eventhough he is not Official he hs been paying salary to teachers & staff that were working during this whole episode. He told me that he has been paying 1/3 salary to teachers, but when I spoke to 1 teacher today, he/she has not been paid during the transition period except for RM120 during this time.

3) Therefore, I asked why is he "investing" when its not even confirmed that he is the Official New Owner? His reply - its a viable business, yes of course it is. I would also invest if I had the money!!! Rm88x 20,000 members = RM1.76 million Woh!! or even 10,000 members = RM880,000!!!!

4) So, is it safe to pay RM88 1st Oct. I say wait & see.

5) But then again, if he doesn't have enough members signing up, which means the business is not viable, that means BYE BYE yoga centre for everyone. So we members are also left in a predicament.

But like I have been suggesting, go get a group & have private classes!! I have been doing that. At least I know the teachers are getting paid for their effort. & not going to someone else's pocket.

YogaLover-thanks for your blog that has kept members updated.

Dear myoga,
The last time i enquire abt membership in myoga, its still a 1 year or 2 years membership( expensive too, registration fees etc) the reason i wasnt keen in joining was because they only have mainy beginner classes as i think its probably coz most of their teachers are still very new and lack teaching experience,( thats my personal opinion, no offence to anyone, i cd be wrong) so what happens if i were to sign up for 1 or 2 years membership and the only classes i will ever get to attend is still beginners hatha 1 after a year?so not worth the risk lor, rather sign up monthly membership elsewhere with more experienced teachers.Even tho myoga boast abt their facilities, im not interested in facilities as i dont plan to hang ard in the studio after yoga classses n as i only want good quality classes under good instructors. But there are a few teachers( 1 or 2) there who seemed to be experienced from reading the fr website.

Hi Fei,

Thanks for all useful information.

I have tried to call the receiver this morning but couldn't get thru. So have drafted a letter and just sent to them via the email address given by you earlier. Hope there is a reply.

Notice that a lot of different opinions and some advertisements about other yoga cneters here, intend to do a simple survey to hear the voices from all YZ members. Will try to work on it later...

Unknown said...

Dear sophia,

Yes, you need show the official receipt and membership card as proof of purchase.

For more info, pls check out the tribunal official site below:

http://ttpm.kpdnhep.gov.my/portal/index.php

Check out the procedures, forms download, guidance to fill up forms and faq columns.

Hi Yoga Lover,

Thanks for submitting our voices to receiver, hopefully can get reply soon.

You can setup an survey column, conducting a survey is a way to collect ans summarize information from the members.

thanks fei, for the helpful info. though strongly feel that the chances to get refund is quite hopeless.

Dear Anonoymous (10th Sep @ 5:02pm),

Can understand your frustration and believe a number of members have the same thoughts as you why the Receiver seems like quiet and no trun up to the members and may be the teachers/staffs as well. But, plese be reminded (in my previous comment) that try to avoid those harsh words here. Okay, THANK YOU.

Dear Anonymous,

For your information, Ms.Lim Lay Gaik is the shareholder of Urban Yoga. From reliable source, she is actually the boss of the Urban Yoga, this is under her whole plan.
Actually i know from one of the receiver, he said their task is to settle all the problems for YZ in a short time, EITHER wine up if the company is really helpless, OR getting investor to sustain YZ. But they did not do any accordingly.

Ms.Lim Lay Gaik plan to delay and drag the rental of the outlet, and made the owner of the outlet release contract from YZ, then setup another "Urban Yoga". Someone might says, it is ONLY because the previous owner TJ owed too many months of rental, so they have to release. Yes, right! Few months, why the previous management can delay until FEW months, and nothing happen? Why after receiver and ms.Lim Lay Gaik cannot hold some more time to sustain YZ for members but setup her own "Urban Yoga" ?

What she's doing is like "getting into other well-build home, and kick the owner out of the house, and live their happily", can describe as " ROBBER / CON-GROUP ".

This is the truth that everyone should know. Let's find out yourself, try asking your favorite teachers, just ask, now who is your boss? Then think from there, you'll find the truth.

You can try the classes, but can see see others outlet also. As so many choices out there.

Happy practising Yoga. :)

Anyone out there read The Star newspaper, Starmetro 2nd page, on yesterday?

Actually the Ms.Lim Lay Gaik said she will bring back YZ like last time, so firm and convincing, I was so happy by then, as my lifetime membership might have chance to continue, but after this month, her empty promises and lies, cant stop me and my fellow yoga members, and few yoga teachers felt so regret not to support the previous management, and the poor TJ. I think he's the only one can revive the YZ, as i read throught again the yogajess blog, he is just consistently doing his job to rescue, but so many people want him to lose the battle. And i really trust ms.Lim Lay Gaik can turn everything back, but she's actully has her own intention, not for all members, while the TJ has good intention for members, although he has responsible for the bad situation.

I think my lifetime membership is gone.

ms.Lim Lay Gaik and receiver please stand out like an adult to response us, members and teachers need to listen to you. Dont let us stay in the dark that you, ms.Lim Lay Gaik had brought us.

Anonymous said...

hmmm... I never meet TJ personally but I just feel strange if he's a conman, he should be very happy with the receivers, because the receivers took over the business now, then why he still wanting to set aside the receivership? Very very strange, who on earth wants to take back a big can of worms...
The receivers didn't agree with the new investors, reasons are very simple:
1. The investor NI is not an investor, but opportunist.
2. The receivership is still pending to set aside, what if TJ has successfully setting aside the receivership and the receiver had already agree with NI's proposal? Then the receiver will in deep shit for making the wrong decision and will definitely be sued for damages.
He he he... One question: can the receivership company ordered by court to be received by other receivers? If yes, this is really the best way! Let's apply for court order to appoint other receivership to receive Ferrier Hodgson! Yes!

hi all,
If a recalled correctly lay gaik"s hp number was revealed by marcus in yogajess, provided jess did not delete that particular post. All these questions shd be directed to lay gaik and not urban yoga.

yogababy said...

We did question the so called new investor, Mr Lim "who is the shareholders of Urban Yoga", his reply was "some of my friends" & we then asked what is Lay Gaik's role? Lim said "Oh well, she's just a consultant as I do not know much about yoga". Ms.Lay Gaik was at PDamas today with some contractors to do some repair works. Looks like she is trying to clean/repair the studio.

If any of you have doubts about Urban Yoga, please stay away from them. Join other clubs that you are comfortable with. Why be bothered by all these?? I know some teachers are teaching students voluntarily. Go & ask, don't just sit around complaining in blogs.

I doubt we will ever get our money back. A lesson to learn from.

Hi Fei,
Thanks for the information. I downloaded the form and will submit it next week. Doubt will get any refund but just wanted to do the right thing.

Haha! Urban Yoga, why take off the comment field from your blog? scared of so many questions & don't know how to answer??

I'm Rural Yoga, your competitor. I'll counter offer to take over YZ, offering the existing members RM50 per mth until their contract expired & therafter RM120 per mth. For GC members, RM38 per mth wholelife. All staff & creditors will get back their money within a year. What say you?

Anonymous said...

Hi Rural Yoga, how to contact u?
we have interest on ur offer!ur oulet will be based at wher?thank u!

Yoga Lover said...

Hi Rural Yoga,

1. Where is your yoga center located and how to contact you?

2. Is there any YZ teachers teaching there?

3. Your offer sounds very attractive, especially RM38 for life for GC. Is it pay by monthly to Rural Yoga or again yearly credit card charged and monthly installments to the banks?

4. Btw, what do you mean "All staff & creditors will get back their money within a year"? Why should you pay the debts of YZ, unless you are TJ, are you?

5. Sometimes, too good the offer make us worry too. Like YZ, offer very good packages which none of the yoga centers can compete. As a result, couldn't support any longer and owe huge debts. All others (teachers, staffs, students, suppliers) suffer. The RM38 for life for GC sounds too good but also reminds us about the YZ GC package.

If you are a genuine businessman of a yoga center, you will just like another competitor to Urban Yoga and we would appreciate more information about your center as believe a number of YZ ex-students could be interested. But, found that your comments here sound against Urban Yoga. Agrred that I'm also upset why Urban Yoga closed the comments option and yet to answer my questions but try not to attack... Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Very thanks to trueyogalover for your clear information.

Anonymous said...

urban yoga close the comment box to avoid ppl unify not join their center. But nevermind, there are many yoga center, gym center offer better price than them. Members will also tell members, so urban yoga wont gain benefit of many members from yogazone.

Anonymous said...

We should forget about joining Urban Yoga(just a new front to cheat YZ members again). We should follow the suggestion of "cheated" to report to the Commercial Crime for an investigation of fraud. Any members who have contacted any Member of Parliament earlier should seek his or her assistance on reporting to Commercial Crime. Imaging 20,000 members being cheated! I think it is of public interest.

To Fei (posted September 10, 2008 8:43 PM)

Urban Yoga is owned by a firm called Klismos Sdn Bhd (727548-K)

This is what posted on urban yoga's blog. But, Kepong member do asked abt the onwership abt this urban yoga, but the answer giving Mr lim was, "This urban yoga was invested by myself" meaning it's not recognised by Klismos?? To what i understand, Klismos was a company in Ipoh. But when i called to the number 05-253 1911, i got the "Belum dalam perkhidmatan"!! what does this mean??

I have a strange feeling..... are we doing to be conned AGAIN??

I strongly suggest to all member (Life/yearly) just DO NOT JOIN this URBAN YOGA, unless they do really appreciate us by giving us a better deal (NOT this RM88)

Dear Yoga Lover,
Really appreciate u to put this up on our blog & let other viewer know abt this... i personally have called but the line was in-active, if by any chance, any1 have the right contact number of this Klismos, can call up & get confirmation abt this statement:

Urban Yoga is owned by a firm called Klismos Sdn Bhd (727548-K)

Kepong Member.

y dun u all form a committee and complain to DAP parties or tribunal court regarding this cheated case by YZ? many of us still need to pay heavy installment with banks but seems like nobody would like to make complanation on refunding either annum or gc fees, and u all just to know shouted out over here (blogs) :(

Anonymous said...

just log on to the urbanyoga blog, what a joke when the 'administrator' mentioned 'they have nothing to do with any other yoga center because of separate entity'!
Bear in mind that there's a transition period since 11th august receivership till now.
Miss Lay Gaik and the opportunist ( investor???) march in happily, and then having few stupid meetings to buy time to setup their own company to form this so-called 'urbanyoga'.
yoga is an ancient practice that focus on body and mind. Where's the yoga mind of this new 'urbanyoga'??? Simply business mind!!! Out of goodwill offering us the RM88 monthly? Thanks for doing the charity.
If your yoga mind is there, I may consider joining, but a yoga center without yoga mind, to me it's just a man without soul. Money is not the main issue here, but the whole setup of urbanyoga make me sick!
imagine the storyline, vision and mission of the company,
( as a copyrighter, maybe my copyrighting skills can help you a bit )
let me think through a while and will post n my next comment.

ohh my god! is lim lay gaik set up the Klismo company to con again? Mr Lim the new investor?? Is LIM again? Are they related? I guess so.... i will never join the stupid urbanyoga!

Anonymous said...

teng, please la there is no use goin to DAP, might as well form a committe and go on strike in front of the receiver office! until the in charge person comes up with the solutions. We can call the press to come as well. As i heard, YF Klang also has member meeting and invited the DAP rep there too. But the receiver nvr give face or bother to attend. So i guess no use!

Unknown said...

I agreed with u. What the politician can do. Sai Hei (waste of energy). Better save urr energy looking for another yoga center to practice yoga.

Dear Yoga Lover, I'm Rural Yoga here reply your questions. I'm actually a GC member, I'm in finance profession. Everyone is upset and angry with the set up of Urban Yoga, everyone perceived the receiver is unprofessional & unethical in arranging such unscrupuluos deal to help LG to get a cheap investment but ignoring the benefits of members & staff. My counter offer was actualy directed to Urban Yoga, I just want to send a message to him that this should be the offer that all YZ members will buy. Very clearly Urban Yoga is ignoring GC members, he just want to chase us out. My counter offer is based on the assumption that Urban Yoga has taken into account of no GC will join them. The RM50 for members and RM38 for GC still equal to RM88 p.m. conservatively more than RM100k will be collected if majority of members buy. I think RM100k should be enough to cover mthly expenses per outlet & the balance can slowly pay off the outstanding debts owed to creditors, staff & teachers. May need to negotiate indulgent for a year, this by right is receiver job. Let see how is the outcome on tomorrow court hearing first b4 any action....

Best Regards,

Yoga Lover said...
