Okay, better do some survey now just in case... as I don't want to stop my yoga practice because of YZ's crisis. My own health is more important and my migraine came back already after stop practicing past few weeks. Found quite a number of small shoplots offer yoga but don't really like it as some of them are more likely to slimming consultants with additional package of yogas. Some offer limited classes once a week with a fixed timing and charge RM60 a month. All are not flexible, really hard to find any other yoga center like YZ -nice, comfortable, flexible, choices of classes and teachers ... sad...
Anyway, these are few which still can be considered and located within Cheras areas.
Dance Yoga
- Location : Jalan Cheras (opposite to Tesco Taman Midah near to Old Town Café Jalan Cheras)
- Studio : 3 studios. Mat is not provided, so have to bring own mats.
^ The Big one like a ballroom mainly for dance and function which well equipped with sportlights (for function and performance purposes).
^ The Medium one mainly for yoga.
^ The Small one is equipped mainly for Ballet practicing. - Environment: Far behind YZ and more like shoplot concept.
- Parking: Should be easy getting parking space in front the shoplot and I think is free.
- Classes : Mixture of Yoga and Dance as named (Dance Yoga). Found that major in dancing especially Ballet.
^ Yoga Basic, Yoga Beginner 1 & 2, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Social Dance, Modern Dance, Belly Dance, Jazz and Aerobic.
^ Weekdays – 1 Yoga class in the morning @ 9:30am; 6 to 7 classes in the evening from 6:00 to 8:30pm with about 3 to 4 Yoga classes plus Jazz, Hip-Hop and others.
^ Weekend – Mainly Ballet and has only about 2 to 3 Yoga classes. - Price : Registration @ RM20 (now offer @ RM8).
^ RM380 for 3-months unlimited classes.
^ RM1,298 for 1-year unlimited classes (YZ students + 1-year FOC by showing YZ membership card).
Jasmine Yoga
- Location - Studio 1 at Amber Business Plaza (next to Cheras LRT Station).
- Studio 2 at Plaza Dwitasik Bandar Sri Permaisuri. - Studio : Studio 2 can cater for a maximum of 24 students. Mats are provided.
- Environment: Okay, quiet.
- Parking: Sufficient parking lots at the Plaza Dwitasik but it is quite quiet and charge @ RM1.50 for the 1st hour, subsequent hour @ RM1.00 / RM1.50... (need to check and confirm).
- Classes : Purely Yoga. Jasmine (founder of Jasmine Yoga) commented that she teaches more on traditional yoga but she just got Christy and Ti Mei from YZ who would teach similar style as YZ.
^ Schedule is on per month basis.
^ Weekdays – 2 ro 3 classes in the morning and 2 to 3 classes in the evening.
^ Weekend – 2 to 3 classes.
^ Note – Please be advised to book and confirm before the class as it might be cancelled if too little of students, especially the Weekdays morning classes. - Price : RM60 per month unlimited classes (only allowed to attend 1 class per day).
Life Yoga
- Location : Damai Perdana, Cheras.
- Studio : 1 studio which can accommodate up to 20 students maximum.
- Environment: Small shoplot at 1st floor but nice, quiet and comfortable. Should be quite safe as it located opposite to a small police station. However, it is more convenient for those staying within this residential area as far access from the Jalan Cheras main road.
- Parking: Free and should be easy getting parking space outside the shoplot.
- Classes : Similar to YZ – Yoga Basic, Hatha (Basic/Intermediate), Yin, Yogilates and Fitball. This is opened by an ex-YZ teaher (Sharon) and few other ex-YZ teachers also teaching here (Christy, Lai Yee and Samantha).
^ Schedule is on per month basis.
^ Weekdays – 4 classes a day (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening).
^ Weekend – 2 classes only. - Price : Registration @ RM30.
^ Limited Class – 4x lessons @ RM88 (sign up 12x lessons @ RM264, and get FOC 4x lessons).
– 8x lessons @ RM118 (sign up 24x lessons @ RM354, and get FOC 8x lessons).
^ Unlimited Classes – RM138 for 1 month (only for Aug, next month onwards will be @ RM148).
– RM368 for 3 months.
– RM688 for 6 months.
– RM1,288 for 1 year, and get FOC 1 month.
Among all the above 3 choices, I would prefer Life Yoga but the fees there is quite expensive unless sign up for 1 year. Anyway, I will not after the experience from YZ. Too early to decide, just wait for the outcome from YZ's receiver first...

hi... same as u, i did survey too. 3 yoga centres i survey at kuchai lama... my feeling is same as u. YZ is still the best! normally i'll practice at tmn desa & SP, it depends on my schedule. but others studio cant afford to give us flexibility on this lo! sad sad...
i really hope YZ will continue the operation after the 10days assessment...
Hi cutiecate,
Be patient for 3 more days. Although knowing the chance is quite slim, I still hope there will be a miracle and good news from the receiver. Will only look for alternative if they confirm to wind up YZ. By then, will share more alternatives with you all (hope this won't happen as I like YZ and the teachers there...)
Btw, did you go and survey the One Yoga Centre at Kuchai Enterpreneur Park?
yaya... i went to One Yoga and almost sign up with them! but end up i bought a RM9.90 card from them in order to hv 2 trial classes. i haven't try their class yet. according to them, some YZ teachers going to join them and some of the YZ members oredi join them. anyhow... not sure how true is that.
yalo... im waiting too. now jz attend whatever classes available lo... :(
Oh... I see. Better attend the trial classes first or pay for short period such as 1 month. Only sign up longer when you are satisfied as there are more options else where and also the lesson from YZ. So, no more 1 year sign-up...
Do you know who are the YZ teachers teaching at this One Yoga Centre and what are the packages they offer? Might take it as reference if the receivers give an unfavourable answer this weekend!!!
hi,
If I'm not wrong,One Yoga used to owned by Sophia Oh who is one of the ex-teacher at YZ but I'm sure about it now.
Not just flexible time and classes, but also flexible location for those free flow members.
Sigh, will it be the same if YZ really come?
Hi,
Indra and Azmi is teaching at sunyoga. You can check out on their website. www.sunyogakl.com
Hi Monica,
I saw Lily and Matthew names as well. Are they also the YZ's teachers or coincidently with the same names...?
Wow, the fees is quite expensive and limited classes:
- Drop in @ RM35/person
- 4x classes + 1 FOC @ RM120 (validity of 1 month)
- 12x classes + 3 FOC @ RM300 (validity of 3 months)
The concept is quite similar to Lightwork at KL near to Istana Hotel - http://www.lightworks.com.my
I'm not so sure.As I know,it was recently been take over by Indra. You should contact them and get more info.
By the way..

and this is my blog yogainborneo.blogspot.com,you can contact me here.
Have a nice day!
yaya... One Yoga own by Sophia. She told me Ken, Leric, Serena are going to join them; Christy already teaching there. from what i know, Ken is still considering and not yet promise to join One Yoga leh!
Wow, all of us really aggressive looking for alternatives. Seems like we all have really lost confidence in YZ.
Christy really hardworking and teaching in quite a number of yoga centers - Jasmine Yoga, Life Yoga and now One Yoga. Anyway, it is glad that we all can share info here. So that we can continue our yoga practice with our beloved teachers again even if YZ cannot survive any longer.
Do keep update us if anyone of you going to join any alternative as suggested here (if the receivers give us a bad news next week). But, be reminded not to sign up long term package oh...(already have good lesson / experience from YZ), since there are so many options. We can try each yoga center and compare, haha...
Have a nice weekend!
hi..Azmi and some YZ teachers will be teaching private classes at a studio near plaza damas in September. if you are interested, please email me at karintwh@gmail.com
hi, i'm also cheras lifetime member. went to CP for classes only last week since the first notice came out. not sure if i am able to continue like this with all the conditions but i'm not looking for alternative as yet. but your post here is really informative.
found this interesting yoga centre, thought of sharing with you. it's Mumusan Yogalife. was featured in China Press sometime back. they offered retreat-cum-detox camp at Pangkor, but i got no $$ to attend.
maybe those from kepong can check it out. it's a bit too far for me.
