Hi Yogalover,

Just wondering if you have any updates/heard anything from anyone re : the Tribunal claims. Has any member that filed earlier months, heard or gotten any refunds? I wrote to "True Yoga Lover" requesting her assistance (as she mentioned in the blog that she managed to get receiverships to stop her IPP credit card payment & write to her) las month, I didn't get any response.

Therefore, does anyone has any news on Tribunal Claims? Appreciate your feebback :)

Hi Yogababy,

I didn't file to the Tribunal claim, so no idea what is the status.

In fact, I did send an email to the True Yoga Lover as well asking how could he/she manage to get the credit card payment stopped. However, there is no reply and he/she seems disappear here nor other blogs for any comment.

Wonder anyone has successfully appealed... Could anyone share with us here...Appreciate it, thanks!

Hi Yogalover,

m also YZ victim and have tried to cancel my credit card installment. Although bank officer was helpful, can't cancel my cc installment as bank already fully paid to YZ. You can try to cancel d cr.card installment but with minor hope like me also.

Herewith letter from bank officer:-
Dear Ms. Tan,

Thank you for your patience.

We refer to your e-mail dated 13 October 2008 pertaining to your request to waive the balance of the installment amount with Urban Retreat-The Weld under The Yoga Zone Group Sdn Bhd (the “Merchant”)

Please allow us to explain the matter to you in a detailed perspective.

We wish to clarify that the Interest-Free Installment Payment Plan (IPP) scheme was offered to UOB Credit Card Cardmember to enjoy financial flexibility by making payment for the Purchase Amount made at a Merchant in equal monthly installments over a selected Interest Free Tenure. By signing the IPP form, the UOB Credit Card Cardmember shall be deemed to have authorized the monthly installments to be billed to their credit card account and be bound by the IPP Terms and Conditions. The Purchase Amount authorized by the UOB Credit Card Cardmember is remitted to the Merchant once the signed IPP form has been submitted for billing upon the first installment payment. Therefore, we wish to inform that the Purchase Amount of RM1, 788 equivalent to 12 months installment payment of RM149 monthly was authorized by your good self had been paid to Yoga Zone Group Sdn Bhd on 19 February 2008.

In addition, please be advised that pursuant to Clause 13 of the IPP Terms and Conditions, UOB is not the supplier (or agent of the Merchant) and do not represent or warrant any of the services of the Merchant to be fit for its purpose or be of merchantable quality. UOB shall also not be in any way liable for any claim, expense, loss or damage brought or incurred by any party whatsoever or for any matter arising from or in connection with the supply of any services purchased or your participation in the IPP.

Pursuant to the UOB Credit Card Agreement, the Cardmember shall resolve all complaints, claims and dispute against the Merchant directly and not through the Bank. You have also undertaken not to enjoin the Bank in any such claims and/or dispute and legal proceedings. As such, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accede to your request to stop the reimbursement balance of the installment amount. Please be advised that your payment obligation for the remaining monthly installments still stand as per specified under Clause 11 of the IPP Terms and Conditions and Clause 15.1(b), 15.1(e), 15.2, 20.1 and 20.2 of the Terms and Conditions of the UOB Credit Card Agreement, a copy of which is enclosed herewith for your ease of reference.

Ms. Tan, we seek your understanding in this matter. We had even taken the initiative to direct your complaint to the Merchant involved and they had informed us to advise you to contact the Yoga Zone headquarters directly at 03-7987 7880 or 012-3988 500 (Mr TJ) and 016-2237 377(Ms. Stephanie Chia) to resolve any enquiries pertaining to the membership. i believe quite a no. of us has file in and some has file in earlier than me. appreciate if anyone can share the info here... are we all give up and din attend at the tribunal court or wat...?

Hi Cutiecate,

In my opinion, you should attend the court hearing as you've already taken the time & effort to file with Tribunal claims & your hearing in 2 days time.

Then at least the judge is aware that such a case exist & there are many victims out there!

Eventhough if you can't claim anything for now, but maybe there's hope & also to make public awareness to be extra careful in the future when RM is involved.

Ppl need to realize, at least I did- Don't be FOOLED by the size of the club as there are no guarantees. I think the smaller studios that ex-teachers has set up is a safer bet!

Anyway, it just my opinion & without prejudice.

Hi Ms Tan,

Sorry to hear that you still servicing the installments till early next year. Don't think any bank can waive it as they have paid YZ and this is the agreement between the bank and card holders. Just wonder wheter any help by filing the Tribunal claims.

Anyway, many thanks for your kind sharing here. Really appreciate iy.

Hi Cutiecate,

Agreed to YogaBaby that just attend the tribunal court no matter what will be the result, provided if you are free. Understand that you might be very busy in preparing for your great day! CHEERS ^_^

Yes Cutiecate, appreciate it if you could attend the Tribunal Court & update us the outcome if possible, thanks in advance! Ya by the way, are we ex-YZ members still interested to know the status of receivership? Just wonder why there is no update from the Receivers after their official circular to the YZ members published at YZ website in early September? In the circular, they mentioned that they will update us when appropriate, it has been more than 2 months. I guess it is going to be just like that ...silent ..& silent forever...

Hi Yogalover,

I will attend my tribunal hearing soon. I heard from tribunal that some members were awarded cash refund by court order in previous cases but not sure if they have persued that with Yogazone. Kindly update if you have any news. Another good news, I heard from reliable source that HSBC is looking for the possibility of refunding to ex-YogaZone members who has signed up using HSBC credit card, on case by case basis - customer satisfaction ! This is to protect their valued customers as they are insured under credit card policy. Pls fill up the claim form at the nearest HSBC counter for their review and comnsideration. Hope you can get back part of your hard-earn $ ! Good day.....
